FILES-US-ECONOMY-NATIONAL SUMMIT-PANDIT
(FILES)Citigroup Chief Executive Office Vikram Pandit speaks during the Manufactoring town hall meeting at the National Summit in Detroit, Michigan, on June 15, 2009. US banking giant Citigroup on July 16, 2010 said it made a 2.7 billion dollar profit in the first quarter of this year, down nearly 40 percent from the same period last year. Despite the fall, Citi's earnings were enough to beat market expectations and to hold on to a second straight quarter of profit. "I am pleased that we have produced solid operating results for the second consecutive quarter," said Citi's CEO Vikram Pandit. AFP PHOTO/Jim WATSON
