BP is "encouraged" by the results so far of a key test to determine whether it can continue to cap crude leaking from a ruptured Gulf of Mexico oil well, a company official said Friday. "The current monitoring that we're do shows no negative evidence," said Kent Wells, a BP senior vice president. "In terms of the integrity testing, it continues, pressure continues to rise, it's currently over 6,700 psi (pounds per square inch), which is consistent with BP's engineering analysis," he added.
