CHAD-SUDAN-SUMMIT-DARFUR-DEBY
Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir (2L), Burkina Faso's President Blaise Compaore (3L), Comores President Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi (4L), Chad President Idriss Deby Itno (C), Libyan leader Moamar Kadhafi (3R) and Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade (2R) pose for a family picture with other heads of state at the 12th Community of Sahel-Saharan (CEN-SAD) states summit on July 22, 2010 in NDjamena. The regional summit in Chad backed Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir who is wanted for war crimes and genocide saying it rejected "all accusations" against him. Chad President Idriss Deby Itno meanwhile called on regional leaders to back the peace process in Sudan and help solve the Darfur crisis, in a speech at the summit. The visit by Beshir is his first to a country that recognises the International Criminal Court (ICC), and Chad has been strongly criticised by the EU and rights organisations for its refusal to arrest him.
