TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY ELOI ROUYER :"UN CONSEIL EXTRAORDINAIRE D'ITER POUR REMETTRE LE PROJET SUR DE BONS RAILS" - A view taken on November 12, 2009 shows the board informing of the construction site of International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) in Saint-Paul-les-Durance, southern France. An Iter extraordinary council will gather on July 27 and 28 in Cararache, southern France, to decide the project schedule for this international scale experiment. ITER is designed to produce 500 megawatts of power for extended periods, 10 times the energy needed to keep the energy-generating plasma -- a form of radioactive gas -- at extremely high temperatures.
