Two indigenous Balinese boys participate in the ritual pandanus battle in Tenganan village, Karang Asem, Bali on July 30, 2010. During the traditional annual Balinese ritual duel men of all ages do battle armed with a rolled pandanus leaf and a rattan shield to honour the Hindu god of war, Indra. The pandanus leaves are barbed with small spikes and fighters scratch each other during the course of the battle, after which, the "enemies" become friends once more and feast.
