KENYA-POLITICS-REFERENDUM-IDP'S
Children use sticks to beat beans out of their kernels in the Tumaini ('hope' in Swahili) IDP camp (Internally displaced person) near Kenya's lakeside town of Naivasha August 2, 2010. Kenya's anticipated constitutional-referendum widely expected to institutionalize a new charter has led to intrenally displaced persons, following ethnic-clashes during the 2008/09 presidential polls, becoming fearful for their safety in some parts of the country with the run-up to the August 4, 2010 vote for a new charter being fraught with accusations between the pro- and anti-camps. Some Kenyan IDP's, most of them being migrants from different parts of the country, have till now been unable to return to their homes for fear of attack by resident communities and the oncoming polls seem to carry a forebording due to the unforgotten, traumatic ethnic-based attacks for electing different political preferences.
