INDIA-KASHMIR-WEATHER-FLOODS
HANDOUT RESTRICTED TO EDITORIAL USE AND EDITORIAL SALES - MANDATORY CREDIT "AFP PHOTO/INDIAN ARMY" This handout photograph released by the Indian Army shows foreigners being evacuated on a military vehicle following flash floods in the remote Himalayan town of Leh on August 6, 2010. At least 60 people were killed and hundreds injured after rare rainfall triggered flash floods in an area of Indian Kashmir popular with foreign fans of high-altitude adventure sports. The overnight floods, prompted by an intense cloudburst, tore through Leh, the main town in the Buddhist-dominated Ladakh region, causing what state Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora described as "unprecedented" devastation.
