Egon Schiele's painting "Portrait of Wally" is pictured at Leopold museum on August 23, 2010 in Vienna. The "Portrait of Wally", by Austrian painter Egon Schiele, finally made its way back to Austria Friday after years of legal wrangling between a Vienna museum and the family of its previous Jewish owner. The prized painting was seized by US authorities in 1998 following an exhibit of Schiele works at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Alleged to have been extorted by a Nazi collector from a Jewish art dealer, Lea Jaray-Bondi, in 1939, the portrait prompted a long legal dispute between Jaray-Bondi's estate and the Leopold Museum, which always insisted it had acquired the painting legitimately.
