The High Altitude Imaging Wind and Rain Profiler (gold color at right) or "HIWRAP" which will allow scientists to measure surface winds above the ocean inside a hurricane is installed on NASA's Global Hawk weather reconnaissance drone at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base in California, August 31, 2010. The Global Hawk, an unmanned, high altitude aerial vehicle will leave Dryden September 01 and fly east to gather data about Hurricane Earl as it moves through the Caribbean islands toward the eastern searboard of the US where the category four storm is expected to deliver heavy winds and rain later this week.
