PORTUGAL-CHILD-ABUSE-TRIAL

Wellknown TV show host, Cruz and other 6 defendents face criminal charges for allegedly abusing children at the care of a state run social school. The court will hand down its verdict after a trial of nearly six years over alleged child abuse at Lisbon's Casa Pia children's homes. Six men and one woman have been charged with the repeated sexual abuse of 32 children in the trial, which is the longest running in Portuguese legal history having opened in November 2004.
