(FILES) A photo taken on May 30, 1978 in Cannes shows French director Claude Chabrol (seated) giving a press conference with actors (L to R), Jean Carmet, Stéphane Audran, and Isabelle Huppert to present their film "Violette Noziere" during the International Film festival. His most widely-known films are dramas in the provincial bourgeoisie, notably "The Butcher" (1970), "Red Wedding" (1973) and "Inspector Lavardin" (1986).
