A new statue of Lord Ganesh shaking hands with Chief Minister of the state of Gujarat Narendra Modi is put on display in Ahmedabad late on September 13, 2010. As a part of the final ritual of Ganesha celebrations, the eco-friendly clay idol will be immersed in various water bodies. The biodegradable materials are used in an attempt to decrease pollution levels in water bodies, with idols made of such components as jute, hay, cloth, synthetic paper, Iron rods, Thermocol, Plaster of Paris, adhesive materials and synthetic paints serious health problems for water users can result.
