This photo taken on September 10, 2010 shows Rae Cheney (C-white hair), mother of a US soldier lost during the Vietnam War, and Ho Thi Moan (L), whose son was also killed during the war, taking part in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of a kindergarten built with funds from Peace Trees Vietnam supported by US veterans and other donors, in Lao Bao district in the central province of Quang Tri. US and Vietnamese officials say that encounter symbolises the reconciliation which their two nations have undergone 15 years after restoring diplomatic relations following the end of the war in 1975.
