HUNGARY-ENVIRONMENT-POLLUTION
Rescue workers prepare to clean houses and yards in Devecser, about 150 kms west of Budapest, on October 9, 2010. Hungarian police and soldiers evacuated 800 villagers on October 9 as authorities feared a second flood of toxic sludge from a chemicals plant was likely after new cracks appeared in a dyke of an aluminium plant in Akja. The first flood on October 4 released 1.1 million cubic metres (38.8 million cubic feet) of foul-smelling, blood-red toxic sludge into villages and rivers. AFP PHOTO / BALINT PORNECZI
