HUNGARY-ENVIRONMENT-POLLUTION
A rescue worker cleans on October 11, 2010 a street covered with sludge in the town of Devecser, 150 kms (93 miles) west of the Hungarian capital Budapest, after a toxic sludge spilled from a reservoir of an aluminium plant near the city of Ajka on October 4, killing at least seven people and injuring 150 more. Engineers put the finishes touches on October 11 to a new dam around a ruptured reservoir to prevent a new wave of toxic sludge from swamping already devastated villages in the west of Hungary.
