Fuel trucks leave, under the protection of anti-riot policemen, the fuel storage depots blocked by strikers on October 19, 2010 in Caen, northwestern France. The two main Normand depots, run by the Combustibles de Normandie company in Caen and by Total in Ouistreham are blocked by several dozens of opponents to the French government pensions reform. Estimates for turnout today at the latest mass protests against pensions reform in France diverged sharply with authorities counting several hundred thousand demonstrators and unions 3.5 million. Protests were held in towns across France on the sixth day of coordinated nationwide actions against President Nicolas Sarkozy's plan to raise the retirement age from 60 to 62.
