ECUADOR-MINING-ACCIDENT-CORREA
Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa (R) shakes hands with Cesar Lopez, in charge of the rescuers team, at the "Casa Negra" mine in Portovelo, Ecuador, on October 20, 2010. Rescuers searching for two miners missing underground for six days in Ecuador punched Wednesday into a shelter where they found lamps and a workman's boot, but no miners, officials said. The operation dug through wood and stone that blocked entry to the gallery where the miners were believed to have been when the cave-in occurred Friday, and though there was no confirmation the miners were alive, officials were buoyed by the discovery and the lack of a stench of death in the shelter.
