ITALY-AUTO-COMPANY-EARNINGS-FIAT-FILES
(FILES) Picture taken November 4, 2009 shows A fiat 500 in front of the Chrysler world headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Italian industrial giant Fiat reported a surge in profits for the third quarter on October 21, 2010 though the figures showed the company's automobile arm is struggling as cash-for-clunkers subsidies fade. Fiat, which picked up a key stake in US giant Chrysler during the economic crisis, said that in the third quarter net profit jumped to 190 million euros (264.1 million dollars) from 25 million euros at the same time last year.
