US-ATTACKS-GUANTANAMO-JUSTICE-CANADA-GOVERNMENT
In this Pentagon-approved photograph of a sketch by Janet Hamlin, Omar Khadr (C) pleads guilty under oath, addressing Capt Michael Grant, USAF on October 25, 2010 in Guantanamo Bay. Canada's government on Monday declined any comment on ex-child soldier Omar Khadr's guilty plea to US war crimes charges, which could see him eventually returned to Canada to serve a shorter prison sentence.
"This is a judicial procedure between Mr. Khadr and the American government and we have no other comment," Catherine Loubier, spokeswoman for Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon, told AFP. Also shown is Military commission Judge Parrish confirming(back). On Khadr's right, Canadian lawyers Dennis Edney and Nathan Whitling, with military legal defense LTC Jon Jackson, USA and Maj Matthew Schwartz, USAF.
