World record holder Haile Gebrselassie leads elite men runners cross at the begining of the New York City Marathon in New York on November 7, 2010. Ethiopian Gebre Gebremariam won in a time of 2:08.14 ahead of Kenyans Emmanuel Mutai and Moses Kigen Kipkosgei. Gebrselassie announced his retirement from racing after dropping out of the race.
