At the request of US Coast Guard District Eleven in San Diego, THIRD Fleet has diverted USS Ronald Reagan from its current training maneuvers to a position south near the Carnival cruise ship C/V Splendor to facilitate the delivery of needed supplies. At approximately 6 am Monday morning November 8, 2010 (U.S. Pacific Standard Time), a fire was detected in the aft engine room aboard the cruise ship Carnival Splendor. The fire was extinguished.
