FILES-CLIMATE-PHILIPPINES-FARM
(FILES) This photo taken on March 27, 2010 shows a farmer preparing to load rice stalks into a threshing machine at a farm in Didpig town, Ilocos Norte province, north of Manila. Drought and typhoons hit Philippine farms hard last year, causing output in the world's largest rice importer to fall by 0.12 percent, the agriculture ministry said. Grains production was particularly hit hard by a rain-starved first nine months, with unmilled rice output down 3.04 percent from a year earlier to 15.77 million tonnes, it said in a report.
