(FILES) This July 31, 2009 file photo shows Gold medalist US swimmer Aaron Peirsol as he celebrates on the podium of the men's 200m backstroke final at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Rome. Peirsol, a five-time Olympic swim champion who still owns world records in the 100- and 200-metre backstroke, has retired from competitive swimming.
