French President Nicolas Sarkozy (R), Solidarity and Social cohesion minister Roselyne Bachelot (2ndL), Social cohesion junior minister Marie-Anne Montchamp (R) and Defence minister Alain Juppe (C) speak with Pellegrin Hospital CHU's general director Alain Heriaud (L) during a visit dedicated on the government's plan aimed to improve the research and the treatment of Alzheimer suffering people, on February 22, 2011 in Bordeaux, southwestern France. Launched on February 1, 2008, the government's plan with its 44 measures to fight Alzheimer and a budget of 1.6 billion euros until 2012, is to accelerate research and improve the ongoing management of this very disabling and incurable disease that affects more than 800,000 people in France.
