CHILE-QUAKE-TSUNAMI-ANNIVERSARY
Locals take part in the "reunion with the sea" ceremony during the one-year commemoration of the 8.8 magnitude earthquake and tsunami which hit the country, on February 26, 2011, in Talcahuano, 590 km south of Santiago. Chilean President Sebastian Pinera vowed Saturday to stand by victims of the massive earthquake and tsunami, but civic organizations protested the slow progress in reconstruction works, as more than 4,000 families still live in 100 temporary villages that sprung up after the disaster.
