A Tunisian sailor (C) poses with relatives on March 23, 2011 on arrival in Tunis after being released by Somali pirates on March 17. Pirates have released a chemical tanker, The Hannibal II, hijacked in November after payment of a ransom of $2 million, Tunisia's transport ministry announced. The 24,000 tonne chemical tanker, with a crew composed of 23 Tunisians, four Filipinos and one each from Croatia, Georgia, Russia and Morocco, was carrying vegetable oil from Pasir Guadang in Malaysia to Suez in Egypt when it was attacked and boarded by pirates some 860 nautical miles east of the Horn of Africa on November 11.
