ITALY-LIBYA-CONFLICT-MILITARY
A Canadian F-18 jet takes off on March 23, 2011 at Trapani-Birgi airbase in Sicily. Western and Arab warplanes are converging on Italy's air bases, including the one of Trapani-Birgi, to join the international campaign to cripple the ability of Moamer Kadhafi's forces to attack Libyan civilians. Six NATO warships backed up by aircraft began today to patrol international waters off Libya's coast to enforce a UN arms embargo against Moamer Kadhafi's regime, the alliance said.
