Serbian opposition leader Tomislav Nikolic is carried on a stretcher out of the parliament in Belgrade to be hospitalised on April 17, 2011 on the second day of a hunger strike aimed at pushing the government to call early polls amid growing public discontent. The opposition is pushing for elections on December 18 while the government insists that a vote should not be held until after a European Union decision on Serbia's membership application expected by the end of the year.
