(FILES) -- File picture taken on February 4, 2011 shows a Syrian man walking past a portrait of Syria's President Bashar al-Assad hung outside an internet cafe in the Damascus Chrisitan neighbourhood of Bab Tuma. Three months later, tourists have deserted the warren of ancient alleyways of the Syrian capital and merchants sit forlornly in front of their shops, killing time playing backgammon, fiddling with worry beads or discussing the unrest roiling the country for two months.
