US stocks fell in early trade om May 26, 2011 following the release of glum economic data showing still-high job loss claims and a fall in after-tax profits for businesses in the first quarter. At 1400 GMT the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 59.22 points (0.48 percent) at 12,338.44.
