Ivory Coast's President Alassane Ouattara waves as he leaves on May 27, 2011 the Hotel Matignon in Paris, after a meeting with France's Prime Minister Francois Fillon. President Ouattara said as he was a guest at the G8 summit in Deauville, western France, with leaders of the world's eight most industrialised nations, that he will tell the G8 summit Friday that his war-torn country needs up to 20 billion euros in aid over the next five years. Ouattara declared the same day in an interview to French radio station Europe 1 he asked France to maintain the French Licorne (Unicorn) Forces based in Ivory Coast and to reopen the French 43rd BIMA (Marine Infantry Battalion military base in Port-Bouët, near Abidjan, three years after it had been dissolved in june 2009.
