TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY AURELIA END - View of European construction giant Strabag's trial gravity foundation for offshore power plants at the Offshore Base Cuxhaven June 7, 2011. The trial involves stress tests simulating wind and tidal flow on the massive concrete base which would be deposited on the seabed rather than buried. Following the German government's plan to close all of its nuclear reactors by 2022, the Offshore Base Cuxhaven, which offers port facilities designed specially for the production, transport and assembly of offshore wind turbines, is hoping for a brighter future.
