AFGHANISTAN-UNREST-FRANCE-FILES

(FILES) In this photograph taken on March 1, 2006, then French ambassador to Iraq Bernard Bajolet listens to questions of journalists during a joint press conference with Iraqi Shiite clerics of the Sadr movement Hazem al-Aaraji and Abdel Hadi al-Daraji in Baghdad's poor neighborhood of Sadr City. The Taliban have targeted top government officials and the French Ambassador to Afghanistan Bernard Bajolet in Afghanistan on June 15, 2011, killing seven people in a suicide car bombing and firing rockets at the vice president and interior minister, who escaped unhurt. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said it had carried out the attack which he claimed had targeted the French ambassador to Afghanistan and French soldiers in Kapisa Province who were visiting the governor's office at the time. Bajolet told AFP that he was 15 minutes away when the attack happened and that his impending visit had been publicly known. AFP PHOTO/ALI AL-SAADI/FILES
