This handout picture released by Riken on June 20, 2011 shows the "K computer" at Riken's laboratory in Kobe, Hyogo prefecture, western Japan. Japan's national institute Riken and Japanese computer giant Fujitsu announced their joint development of the K Computer to became the world's fastest supercomputer. The K Computer, which has 672 racks with a total of 68,544 CPUs, has achieved 8.162 quadrillion calculations per second (petaflops). AFP PHOTO / HO / RIKEN
