People pay their respects at a memorial for the vivtims of the Loveparade disaster in Duisburg, western Germany on July 21, 2011 killing 21 people. On next July 24, 2011, it is the first anniversary of the disaster in which victims were crushed to death in a stampede as they desperately tried to escape the narrow tunnel that served as the only entrance to the grounds hosting the techno music festival.
