The Dominican authorities have issued a red alert on 26 provinces and a yellow alert for the rest of the country as Tropical Storm Emily entered the country Wednesday early afternoon. A tropical storm warning was in effect for Haiti, the neighboring Dominican Republic, the US territory of Puerto Rico, the southeastern Bahamas, and the Turks and Caicos islands, the US National Hurricane Center said.
