AFGHANISTAN-UNREST-US-MEDEVAC
A fatally wounded US army soldier is carried out of the Medevac helicopter of the 159th Brigade Task Force Thunder by Medics after being airlifted on August 24, 2011 to Kandahar Hospital Role 3. Two US soldiers were heavily injured by gun shots and brought to the hospital. All foreign combat troops will leave Afghanistan by the end of 2014 in a process that started last month and will require the Afghan army and police to play an ever-greater role in fighting the Taliban insurgency.
