A crane stands next to the 12th century monastery of the Holy Virgin of Tornikio to be moved to make way for an artificial lake that will power a new hydroelectric dam, near the northern Greek city of Grevena, on September 1, 2011. Sliding on a 50-tonne tracked platform equipped with hydraulic pistons, the monastery is to be moved some 120 metres (400 feet) from its current location including 27 metres (88 feet) uphill, according to organisers.
