BRAZIL-FINANCE-ECONOMY-INFLATION
A vendor arranges fruits at a market in Rio de Janeiro on September 21, 2011. Brazil, suffering a loss of competitivity from a soaring currency, is asking the WTO to look at ways countries can mitigate the effects of foreign exchange on trade. The move, detailed in a formal request to the World Trade Organization Monday, comes as Brazil is struggling to maintain exports as the sliding values of the dollar, euro and yuan push its currency, the real, to uncomfortable levels. Although the real has dropped somewhat in recent weeks, Brazil's government remains concerned that investors are speculating on the real. AFP PHOTO/ANTONIO SCORZA
