AFGHANISTAN-US-PAKISTAN-UNREST
Afghan residents wait to have their eyes scanned and fingerprints taken by a soldier of the US army HHB 3-7 Field Artillery Regiment 3rd Bct 25th ID during a mission in Turkham on October 6, 2011, a border crossing town in the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan and the Khyber Agency of Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The new Afghan-Indian security pact could inflame Pakistan's proxy war against India and threatens Islamabad's regional ambitions in South Asia, as ties with Kabul and Washington hit rock bottom. Kabul claims the recent murder of its peace envoy Burhanuddin Rabbani was plotted in Pakistan, and has accused Islamabad of hindering the investigation. AFP PHOTO/TAUSEEF MUSTAFA
