AFGHANISTAN-US-UNREST-MEDEVAC
A soldier who was wounded by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) is carried by fire rescue service officers to an ambulance after he was airlifted by a medevac helicopter from the U.S. Army's Task Force Lift "Dust Off", Charlie Company 1-171 Aviation Regiment in Helmand province on October 31, 2011. The soldier suffered from fractures on his twisted right leg. According to the UN, insurgents are responsible for 80 percent of civilian casualties, with 14 percent caused by NATO and Afghan forces and the rest unknown. AFP PHOTO/ BEHROUZ MEHRI
