PARAGUAY-EU-STEVIA-FILES
(FILES) A file photo taken on October 23, 2009 shows a stevia plant, known as "sweet herb", or "ka´a he´e" in the native Guarani language, growing in a plantation in Caacupe, 50 kms east of Asuncion, Paraguay. The European Commission announced ib November 14, 2011 that it was authorizing as of December 2 the marketing of stevia in the European Union as a natural sweetener that could replace aspartam as it has no calories.
