WASHINGTON, DC - DECEMBER 16: Robert Khuzami (R), Director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Enforcement Division, announces that the SEC has charged six former top executives of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac with securities fraud, alleging they approved of misleading statements claiming the companies had minimal holdings of higher-risk mortgage loans, including subprime loans December 16, 2011 in Washington, DC. Former Fannie Mae CEO Daniel Mudd and former Freddie Mac CEO Richard Syron were among those charged by the SEC.
