GABON-VOTE
A man arrives to vote at a polling station during the legislative elections in Medouneu on December 17, 2011. Turnout was low as Gabon voted Saturday in legislative elections boycotted by part of the opposition in the west African oil state. With a thumping victory expected for President Ali Bongo's Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG), the turnout appeared to be the main stake in the polls. The PDG and its allies hold 98 of the 120 seats in parliament and are not expected to lose much ground in the face of a splintered opposition. AFP PHOTO / PATRICK FORT
