FRANCE-TURKEY-ARMENIA-GENOCIDE-PARLIAMENT
French Minister of Relations with Parliament, Patrick Ollier, attends at the French National Assembly, on December 22, 2011 in Paris, the debate on a bill, which would see anyone in France who publicly denies the 1915 Armenian genocide face a year in jail and a fine of 45,000 euros ($58,000). At the end of this debate, French lower house backs law banning Armenian genocide denial. The planned French legislation has united Turkey's ruling and opposition parties which in a joint declaration denounced it as a "grave, unacceptable and historic mistake.
