One of the friendly hounds on the US Customs and Border Protection K-9 team is Thomas the beagle with his "super sniffing ability" to detect banned meats, cheeses, and fruits, or prospective new pets like fish, birds, or snakes from abroad in international traveler's carry on luggage in the US Customs and Immigration area at Dulles International Airport (IAD), December 21, 2011 in Sterling, Virgina, near Washington, DC.
