GERMANY-ARCHITECTURE-PALACE-LEGO-MODEL
A mockup of the Berliner Stadtschloss (Berlin city palace) made of lego bricks is on display at the Legoland Discovery Center in Berlin on January 6, 2012. The model was constructed in a scale of 1:60 and consists of about 400,000 bricks. The Berliner Stadtschloss (Berlin city palace) is to be re-built at the site of the former "Palast der Republik" (Palace of the Republic) in the heart of the German capital. The city palace, which housed the Prussian Kings and then the German emperors until 1918, was destroyed in 1950 by east German authorities after it was severly damaged by allied bombing during the second world war.
