A United States Amphibious Assault Vehicle(AAV) rolls off a LCAC hovercraft at the crack of dawn January 6, 2012, and comes ashore from the USS Kersarge(LHD-3) as part of Operation Bold Alligator 2012, a multinational exercise involving 14,000 Marines, Sailors, Airmen, and Soldiers with more than 25 ships and 8 countries. The US is hosting the large scale amphibious landing with Canada, UK, France, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, New Zealand and Australia, participating at sea, on land, and in the air, and around Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
