BRITAIN-LIFESTYLE-NETHERLANDS-ART-CRIME

A handout reproduction obtained from Britain's Art Loss Register (ALR) with the authorisation of the Karel Appel Foundation on February 15, 2012 shows a work by the late Dutch expressionist artist Karel Appel entitled 'Phantasmagoria No. 162' taken after it was recovered in a cache of art works by the Dutch artist that were lost in transit ten years ago and recently found in a British warehouse. The 400 pieces were found by a British storage company when it cleared out the contents of a warehouse that it had bought before Christmas, the paper reported on its website. 'Phantasmagoria No. 162' was one of the works lost and then receovered. AFP PHOTO / KAREL APPEL FOUNDATION
