GREECE-FINANCE-ECONOMY-HISTORY-GLEZOS-FILES
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY CATHERINE BOITARD
(FILES) In this photo taken on June 6, 2011, activist and writer Manolis Glezos (L) stands outside the German embassy in Athens. Glezos, an emblematic figure of Greece's radical left movement and the country's fight against Nazi Germany, attended the parliament session on February 12 where government coalition parties -- at a heavy cost -- approved a new round of unpopular austerity measures to clinch a 130-billion-euro eurozone bailout. At 89 years of age, Glezos has created with Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis a new activist group named "Elada" dedicated to fighting against the recent austerity measures approved by the Greek parliament and foreign influence in Greek politics.
